The Vaste Family
The business was originally started on a meagre scale by Mrs. Mandakini Ratnakar Vaste to mitigate the financial burden brought upon the family due to the illness of her husband. Her children, Sushil Vaste and Pranay Vaste had gained knowledge and practice of making Ganpati idols while working for Ganpati workshops to help the family during their formative years. The love for the Lord and their creative sensitivities encouraged them to help their mother in setting up their small business.
Her blessings have enforced their resolve to bring about the changes. Today ‘Eco Shree Ganesha Arts‘ masters the processes of making eco-friendly paper-mache Ganesha idols comprising of paper, natural gum, incense and small quantities of shadu clay, dye-painted with natural colours. This innovation of eco-friendly idols will help heal nature and prevent the pollution inflicted on it in the name of religious festivities.
Sushil Vaste and Pranay Vaste both have a vast experience in making of idols as large as 20ft for various Ganpati mandals all over Mumbai. Their dynamism and foresight towards the issues of tomorrow make them ready for the change.
